Zoho has introduced Classes 2.0, an AI-powered learning management system (LMS) designed to help educational institutions manage teaching, learning, student records and administration from a single platform.
Built in India, the platform supports all 22 scheduled Indian languages. Zoho is also offering it free of licensing costs to government schools, colleges and universities across the country, making advanced digital learning tools more accessible to public institutions.
The AI Course Builder
One of the biggest additions in Zoho Classes 2.0 is the AI Course Builder. Teachers can create a complete course in less than 30 seconds by simply uploading a syllabus, topic, or lesson plan. The tool automatically prepares video lesson outlines, reading material, assignments with grading rubrics, and practice tests. It also maps every course to Course Outcomes (COs) and Programme Outcomes (POs), helping institutions meet academic requirements.

Teachers can decide when course content becomes available, keep lessons locked until the right time and choose from more than 100,000 curriculum templates. The platform also supports flipped classrooms, allowing students to study learning material before attending class.
What’s for the Students?
For students, Zoho Classes 2.0 includes a 24/7 AI Tutor that can provide learning support at any time. The platform also offers microlearning modules and gamified lessons to make learning more interactive and engaging.
Beyond classroom learning, the platform manages the complete student journey, from admission and enrollment to course completion. It uses AI to identify students who may need additional academic support, helping institutions intervene early when required. Another key feature is the Low-Code Micro App Builder. This allows schools and colleges to create custom applications for admissions, syllabus management, and other administrative tasks without writing code or hiring software developers.
Zoho says the platform also supports compliance with accreditation requirements set by NAAC, NBA, UGC, and NMC while aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Access to Modern Education
Speaking about the launch, Zoho CEO Mani Vembu said access to modern educational technology should not depend on an institution’s financial resources. He added that offering free licences to government educational institutions reflects the company’s commitment to expanding access to quality digital education.

Zoho Classes already has a significant user base. According to the company, the platform has delivered more than eight million notifications, supported over one million assignment submissions and hosted more than 2TB of teacher-created video content.
The platform is currently being used by institutions including SRM Institute, Sishya School, Chettinad Health City, Vidya Mandir, and several government education bodies. Zoho Classes 2.0 is now available across India, while a global rollout is planned in the coming months. Individual teachers managing up to 100 students can also use the platform free of charge.
