The new facility is part of the Rs 60,000 crore investment commitment that the Telangana government secured from AWS during the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos in 2025. The project is expected to strengthen Hyderabad’s position as one of India’s leading cloud and digital infrastructure hubs while supporting the growing demand for AI and cloud services.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said the arrival of a global technology company like AWS would attract more investments into Bharat Future City and accelerate the region’s development. He invited Amazon to further deepen its presence in the state by investing Rs 1 lakh crore in Telangana by 2034. To ensure steady progress, the Chief Minister also announced that the state government would hold monthly review meetings to monitor AWS’s investment plans.

According to AWS, the investment will increase data centre capacity in Hyderabad and Mumbai, enabling startups, enterprises and government organisations to access advanced cloud technologies, custom AI chips, managed AI services and developer tools. The expanded infrastructure is intended to help businesses build AI applications faster, scale operations more efficiently and serve customers across global markets.
