Google is making it easier for iPhone users to switch to Android with a new migration experience built directly into Android 17. With the new migration tool, users can transfer familiar data such as photos, videos, contacts, messages and calendars. Google is also expanding the types of information that can be moved during the setup process, including Google Account details, passwords, Wi-Fi credentials and eSIM information. By bringing more of the migration process directly into Android, Google aims to make the transition faster and more straightforward for users moving away from an iPhone.

The updated migration experience has already started rolling out to select Pixel devices. It is also available on Samsung’s new Galaxy Z Flip8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 series, giving users more options when moving from an iPhone to a new Android smartphone.
