Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport has now introduced a unique passenger service—India’s first AI-powered food delivery robot. The robot is already operational at the F level concourse of the domestic terminal, redefining convenience for travellers.  The autonomous food delivery robot collects meals from partner restaurants and smoothly navigates through the bustling terminal to serve passengers waiting at their boarding gates. Tech-savvy travellers and aviation enthusiasts visiting Hyderabad will certainly find the experience of being served by a robot both fascinating and futuristic.

How Passengers Can Order Meals

Ordering from the robot is a seamless experience. Passengers can scan QR codes placed at kiosks or directly on the robot itself. After scanning, they can choose a restaurant such as Pista House or Minerva Coffee Shop, select their preferred meal, confirm payment, and receive an OTP for order verification. Once the robot arrives at the gate, passengers simply enter the OTP and enjoy their freshly delivered meal without leaving their seats.

Quick Delivery Time With Real-Time Tracking

The AI-powered robot ensures fast service. Beverages like tea or coffee are typically delivered within eight minutes, while food orders take about 15 minutes. Passengers can also track their order in real time as the robot makes its way through the terminal crowds, adding both efficiency and novelty to the travel experience.

Hyderabad Airport’s Tech-First Approach

The food delivery robot is just one of several cutting-edge initiatives introduced at Hyderabad Airport. Earlier, the airport pioneered IoT-enabled smart baggage trolleys equipped with sensors that provide real-time flight updates, boarding gate information, and airport maps. Additionally, the airport features AI-enabled Smart Kiosks—virtual information desks that assist passengers with 3D navigation, flight details, and emergency support.
