At COMPUTEX 2025, robotics and Edge AI were the main focus which signified a shift in how machines interact with their environment. Leaders from NVIDIA, Google DeepMind, and Texas Instruments showcased exciting new technologies that are turning intelligent robots into a reality.

NVIDIA's Vision: Physical AI Meets Industrial Application

Held at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Centre, Deepu Talla, NVIDIA’s Vice President of Robotics and Edge AI emphasised the tangible progress in robotics. He stated, “This is the first year I feel the future is coming to the present.” He further highlighted the integration of digital AI models, like ChatGPT, into physical robots, enhancing manufacturing and production processes. NVIDIA's collaboration with over 350 Taiwanese companies showcases its commitment to advancing robotics through hardware, software, simulation, and system integration.

Google DeepMind's Gemini: A Leap Towards Generalised Robotics

Ed H. Chi, Vice President of Research at Google DeepMind, introduced the capabilities of the Gemini model in robotics. Gemini's strength lies in its ability to generalise across tasks, adapt to new scenarios without retraining, and perform complex actions with dexterity. Chi noted, “This is the first time in history this integration has been achieved in a single model,” referring to Gemini's combined perception, planning, reasoning, and real-time execution abilities.

Texas Instruments: Prioritising Safety in Humanoid Robotics

Giovanni Campanella, Sector General Manager at Texas Instruments, discussed the company's focus on safety in robotic design. By integrating advanced semiconductor technologies, Texas Instruments aims to ensure that robots operate reliably and securely, laying the foundation for their widespread adoption in various sectors.
