In a significant leadership transition, Gaurav Banerjee, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI), has been named the new Chairman of the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India.

Leadership Transition
Banerjee steps into the role previously held by Shashi Sinha, Executive Chairman of IPG Mediabrands India. Sinha had served as BARC India’s Chairman for more than three years, during which the organisation navigated key milestones in the television and broadcasting landscape.

A Stalwart in Media and Broadcasting
With more than 20 years of experience in the media and entertainment industry, Gaurav Banerjee brings deep expertise and strategic vision to his new role. Apart from leading SPNI, he also serves as Vice President of the Indian Broadcasting & Digital Foundation (IBDF) and is a director on the boards of MSM-Worldwide Factual Media Pvt. Ltd. and Bangla Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.
