Samsung is gearing up for its much-anticipated Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9, where it will unveil the next generation of its foldable smartphones. While the spotlight will be on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and other Z series models, industry insiders suggest Samsung has another major reveal up its sleeve—a brand-new tri-foldable smartphone, possibly named Galaxy G Fold.

However, in a strategic move, Samsung will not launch this futuristic device alongside the Z series foldables. Instead, the Galaxy G Fold is reportedly scheduled for a full release in October this year. The company is expected to preview the device at the upcoming Unpacked event, following a similar strategy it used with the Galaxy S25 Edge, where the product was introduced during the flagship S25 launch but officially rolled out a few months later in May.

Z Fold 7 Leaked Ahead of Launch

Meanwhile, anticipation around the Galaxy Z Fold 7 continues to build. A leaked image of the device, shared by well-known tipster Evan Blass on X (formerly Twitter), showcases a sleeker design and highlights the slimmer profile of its camera module. This leak aligns with expectations of Samsung refining the build of its foldables for better usability and aesthetics.

A Peek Into the Future

The Galaxy G Fold, with its rumoured tri-fold display, could represent Samsung’s boldest leap in foldable design yet. While it won’t be available immediately, a preview in July sets the stage for what could be a game-changing device when it hits the market later this year. Samsung appears to be pacing its innovation rollouts to maintain excitement and extend consumer interest across multiple months. Whether this strategy pays off will become clearer when the Galaxy G Fold finally lands in October. Until then, the July 9 event will give us our first official glimpse into Samsung’s foldable future.
