In response to the growing global spike in smartphone thefts, Samsung has rolled out a powerful new layer of protection for its Galaxy users. Introduced through its latest One UI 7 software update, the new suite of anti-theft and anti-robbery tools aims to help users secure both their devices and sensitive data like never before.
New AI-Powered Security in One UI 7
The updated security framework introduces a multi-layered defence system that’s driven by artificial intelligence and enhanced locking capabilities. Among the standout features are AI-based Theft Detection Lock, Remote Lock, Offline Device Lock, and biometric safety reinforcements. These features are not just add-ons—they're designed to respond to real-world high-risk scenarios, especially when your device is compromised or offline.

More Galaxy Phones Now Eligible
Initially exclusive to the Galaxy S25 series, the anti-theft toolkit has since been extended to several other flagship models. Devices such as the Galaxy S24, S23, and S22 series, along with Samsung’s latest foldables—the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, Z Fold 5, and Z Flip 5—are all now equipped to receive these critical security upgrades. Samsung has confirmed that even more devices will soon be added to the rollout list, offering broader protection across its Galaxy ecosystem.
Going Beyond Google's Default Protections
While Google’s standard Android protections serve as a reliable baseline, Samsung’s new tools take things a step further. The One UI 7 update layers Samsung-specific technology on top of Android’s foundation to combat theft and robbery in more aggressive, situation-aware ways. This includes new features like Identity Check and Security Delay—designed to prevent unauthorised access and delay sensitive actions if the phone detects suspicious behaviour.
