Samsung Electronics has completed a new HVAC manufacturing facility in Pune, Maharashtra, operated by FläktGroup, a Samsung company. The new plant will manufacture advanced cooling systems for data centres, commercial buildings and other critical infrastructure, while serving customers in India and across the Asia-Pacific region.

The facility is the first new FläktGroup manufacturing plant to become operational since Samsung completed its acquisition of the HVAC specialist in November 2025. The move strengthens Samsung’s presence in India’s growing HVAC market and its focus on cooling solutions for AI data centres.
Inauguration Ceremony
Samsung held an inauguration ceremony at the Pune facility. The event was attended by Cheolgi Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Samsung’s Digital Appliance Business, FläktGroup CEO David Dorney, executives from both companies and representatives from major customers.

“The completion of the production line in Pune, India, marks a significant milestone in expanding our HVAC supply beyond India to the broader Asia-Pacific region,” said Cheolgi Kim. He added that Samsung plans to combine its AI and technology capabilities with FläktGroup’s HVAC expertise to develop cooling solutions for customers, including AI data centres.
The new facility covers around 13,826 square metres and includes a production line, offices and supporting facilities. FläktGroup moved from equipment installation to mass production in just six months. The company plans to gradually increase production capacity to up to 6,500 HVAC units a year.
FläktGroup Pune Facility
The Pune plant will manufacture several FläktGroup products, including Air Handling Units (AHUs), Fan Wall Units (FWUs) and Computer Room Air Handlers (CRAHs). These systems are designed for applications such as AI data centres and other facilities that require reliable and precise cooling.

AHUs use chilled water to cool indoor spaces while also helping maintain air quality. They are commonly used in data centres and large commercial buildings. FWUs use multiple high-capacity fans to remove heat from server environments, while CRAHs are designed to control temperature, humidity and air quality for critical IT equipment.
The Pune facility adds to FläktGroup’s existing manufacturing operations in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Together, the two plants are expected to improve local production, shorten delivery times and help the company respond more quickly to customers in India and the wider Asia-Pacific market.
