boAt has partnered with Bengaluru-based semiconductor startup HrdWyr to co-design a chip named Indus 1011, marking a bold step to reduce import dependence and strengthen India’s local supply chain. This MCU-class system-on-chip, specifically developed for headset charging cases, will be assembled, packaged, and tested entirely in India by Tata Electronics, making it a milestone for India’s semiconductor ecosystem.

Deployment & Efficiency Gains

The Indus 1011 will first appear in boAt’s Nirvana premium range of products. Prototypes are expected by the end of this year, with commercial rollouts starting in mid-2026. boAt aims to integrate the chip into 25 per cent of its product portfolio by that year.
