India’s popular fintech platform CRED has rolled out an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered credit coaching feature to help users better understand and navigate their credit scores.
The new package combines AI with credit report analysis to provide personalised guidance, real-time updates and alerts.
The development marks CRED’s latest push to strengthen its personal finance services as digital credit adoption continues to grow in the country.

AI coach explains what affects your credit score
The new AI coach is built to answer common credit-related questions in simple language. Users can ask why their credit score has fallen, understand how closing a credit card could affect their credit profile, or receive suggestions to improve their overall credit health.
The feature also offers daily refreshes of users’ TransUnion CIBIL credit reports and sends instant notifications whenever there is a change. According to CRED, these alerts can help users identify duplicate records, inaccurate information or potentially fraudulent activity at an earlier stage.

Subscription plans with privacy safeguards
The AI credit coach will be available through monthly, annual and one-time subscription plans. CRED also allows subscribers to add up to 4 family members to a shared plan, ensuring each person’s credit information remains private.
“Conversations with the AI coach will not be stored or retained, addressing growing concerns around data privacy as AI-powered financial tools become more common.”
-said CRED officials.
Existing users will continue to receive CRED’s free credit score services, including monthly score updates and credit simulation tools.

Industry sees growing need for credit awareness
Bhavesh Jain, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of TransUnion CIBIL, said that greater access to credit has made it increasingly important for consumers to monitor their credit health actively. Miten Sampat, Interim Chief Executive Officer of CRED, said the AI coach is intended to make credit information easier to understand and help users make better financial decisions over time.
The launch reflects a broader trend across India’s fintech sector, where companies are utilising AI to simplify financial services and encourage informed borrowing rather than simply expanding access to credit.
As AI becomes more deeply embedded in financial services, the next phase of competition in fintech is likely to centre on trust, transparency, and helping consumers make smarter financial decisions, not just offering faster access to credit.
