Navi Limited, the financial services company founded by Flipkart co-founder Sachin Bansal, has raised $100 million from global technology investor Prosus.
The progress marks Navi’s first institutional funding since Bansal began building the fintech business. The investment is subject to customary conditions & regulatory approvals, including clearance from the Competition Commission of India (CCI).

Navi Moves Beyond Self-Funded Growth
The funding brings a significant change in Navi’s financing strategy. The company, initially built on Bansal’s own capital, now enables expansion across financial services through external institutional investors.
The Prosus investment brings an established global investor into the business as Navi looks to scale further. Bansal described Prosus as one of the world’s respected investors and highlighted its experience in building technology businesses globally.
The relationship between Bansal and Prosus also goes back more than a decade to his Flipkart years.
Prosus India’s head of investments and mergers and acquisitions, Ashutosh Sharma, said Navi’s large user base, multiple businesses on one platform, technology-led approach and focus on customer experience matched the investor’s criteria.
He also pointed to Navi’s execution over the past 12 months despite a difficult macroeconomic environment.

Navi’s Payments and Lending Businesses Gain Scale
Navi’s operating numbers provide the backdrop to the investment.
Navi UPI remained India’s fourth-largest Unified Payments Interface (UPI) app through financial year 2025-26, competing in a market dominated by PhonePe and Google Pay.
Meanwhile, Navi Finserv’s lending assets under management crossed ₹130 billion.
The group also reported consolidated profitability in the fourth quarter of FY26. The improvement was supported by better unit economics and operating leverage, according to the report.
The combination of scale in digital payments, a growing lending book and a move into profitability gives Navi a stronger base as it enters its next phase of growth.

What the Prosus Investment Means for Navi?
For Navi, the $100 million cheque is more than an injection of capital. It brings institutional backing to a fintech that has so far followed a largely founder-funded path.
The immediate focus will be on how Navi uses this backing to deepen its financial services business while maintaining growth and profitability.
Navi’s first institutional round puts the spotlight on whether its payments scale and lending profitability can translate into sustained growth amid intensifying competition in India’s fintech market.
