Paytm, India’s pioneering mobile payments and financial services company, has introduced a new privacy-centric feature — ‘Hide Payment’— enabling users to hide selected transactions from their payment history within the Paytm app.

This feature offers individual users enhanced control over how transactions are displayed, without impacting data security or accessibility. It was developed in response to growing user demand for greater discretion in managing digital payments.

Addressing Everyday Privacy Needs

The ‘Hide Payment’ feature allows users to temporarily mask personal or sensitive transactions, such as pharmacy purchases, surprise gifts, or personal spending, from their visible history, while still retaining the ability to access these records as needed.

“This is about giving users more control and comfort in their everyday financial interactions,” a Paytm spokesperson said. “Our innovations are always driven by what users need, and ‘Hide Payment’ is a reflection of our commitment to creating thoughtful, user-first features.”

How It Works: Simple Steps to Hide or Unhide Transactions

To hide a transaction:

1. Open the Paytm app and navigate to “Balance & History.”
2. Swipe left on the transaction to hide.
3. Tap “Hide” and confirm the action.
4. The transaction is now hidden from the main history view.

To unhide a transaction:

1. Go to “Balance & History” in the app.
2. Tap the three-dot icon and select “View Hidden Payments.”
3. Authenticate using a PIN or biometric verification.
4. Swipe left on the hidden transaction and tap “Unhide.”
5. The transaction will reappear in your history.
