A first-of-its-kind coworking space that embraces neurodiversity and modern workplace design is taking shape inside the Ernakulam South metro station. Spread across seven floors and covering a massive 48,000 square feet, ‘i by Infopark’ is set to become Kerala’s most inclusive and flexible workspace when it officially opens in September.
Designed with world-class amenities and tailored for neurodivergent professionals, the facility aims to support over 580 working professionals, including gig workers, freelancers, IT firms, and global capability centres. What sets this space apart, however, is not just its location or scale but how thoughtfully it has been built with neurodiversity at its core.

Workspaces for All
The design philosophy behind the workspace is inspired by ‘Spectra’, a global concept that embraces neurodiversity by recognising variations in human brains as normal and adaptive. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, in a recent post on X, highlighted how the facility is equipped with 582 seats, high-speed internet, uninterrupted power, 24/7 security, a professional reception area, office pods, a cafeteria, and multiple meeting zones.

“In a world where nearly 20 per cent of the population is neurodivergent, it’s crucial to rethink the environments we work in. This facility is a model for the future,” the CM said, adding that similar setups are being planned across the state to drive innovation and employment.
More Than Just an Office—A Flexible Model
According to Infopark CEO Susanth Kurunthil, one of the unique features of ‘i by Infopark’ is its rental system, which allows businesses to scale their office space based on changing needs. “It’s not just for tech giants or startups. We’re catering to freelancers, gig workers, and even multinational corporations looking to set up shop in Kerala,” he said. Kurunthil noted that the space spans the third to ninth floors of the metro station complex and is part of a larger vision to reposition Infopark as the preferred destination for inclusive, strategically located workspaces.

A Sensory-Driven Experience for Enhanced Productivity
Delving into the neurodiversity-friendly design, Kurunthil explained that each floor has been curated with a specific sensory focus in mind. This sensory symphony — aimed at enhancing both comfort and productivity — supports individuals with conditions such as autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, and Tourette syndrome. “Our approach is simple: support diversity by embracing it,” he said. “The ‘Spectra’ concept allows us to celebrate unique perspectives and encourage innovation, which ultimately benefits everyone in the workspace.”
The Future of Work is Inclusive — And It's Already Here
With its blend of thoughtful design, strategic location, and inclusivity, ‘i by Infopark’ isn’t just a coworking facility — it’s a glimpse into the future of workspaces. And if the Kochi model proves successful, it could set the stage for a wave of similar projects across Kerala. For a state that’s already on the digital fast track, this move further solidifies Kerala’s ambition to become a tech-forward, inclusive, and innovation-friendly destination for companies big and small.
