The Bihar government is preparing to launch a dedicated Artificial Intelligence policy. The move is part of the state’s plan to become a major AI and technology hub in India. It will focus on strengthening digital infrastructure, promoting innovation, creating jobs and increasing the use of AI across different sectors.

The state government has also directed its departments to adopt AI-based technologies to improve transparency and deliver better public services.

AI Investments and Research Projects

Bihar has already taken several steps to support AI-led development. Earlier this year, the state signed important agreements at the India AI Impact Summit 2026. These plans include setting up a major AI Centre of Excellence and a ₹250-crore research park at IIT Patna.

Support for Startups and Skilling

The proposed policy is expected to encourage collaboration between the government, educational institutions, startups, and industry partners.
