As per a report by Bloomberg, Samsung, the South Korean mobile phone giant, and Perplexity AI, the US-based AI Startup, are in talks to potentially forge a collaboration and empower Samsung’s upcoming series of Galaxy S26 phones. This will enable the smartphone company to position the AI startup at the forefront of Samsung’s devices.
Potential innovations that can be witnessed in the future as a part of the collab include preloading Perplexity’s app and assistant on Samsung’s upcoming devices. Other than this, the industry will potentially witness an integration of Perplexity into Samsung’s web browser, the report by Bloomberg further suggests. Finally, the industry might also witness Bixby’s new face formed post the integration of Perplexity AI.
Funding Impetus for Startup
As per the people close to the matter, Samsung is also reportedly poised to become a major investor in Perplexity's upcoming funding round. The AI startup is in advanced talks to raise $500 million at a valuation of $14 billion, Bloomberg News reports.
