Samsung has certified 1,000 students across Maharashtra through its flagship CSR initiative, Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC), marking a key step in strengthening the state’s digital skills ecosystem and supporting India’s broader skilling agenda.

This is the first large-scale certification drive by the programme in the state, with students trained in Artificial Intelligence (AI) as well as Coding and Programming—two areas increasingly central to the digital economy. The cohort includes 127 students from Savitribai Phule Pune University, 373 from Pimpri Chinchwad University, 250 from D. Y. Patil University’s Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology, and another 250 from Anjuman-I-Islam’s Kalsekar Technical Campus. Participants completed hands-on training designed to equip them with practical, industry-relevant skills.

Beyond technical learning, the programme also incorporates modules on communication, problem-solving, and career readiness. The aim is to ensure students are prepared not just for immediate job opportunities, but for long-term roles in a rapidly evolving technology landscape. The approach reflects Samsung’s effort to bridge the gap between academic training and industry expectations.

“India’s digital growth will depend on the strength of its talent pipeline,” said Shubham Mukherjee, Head of CSR and Corporate Communications at Samsung Southwest Asia. “As technologies like AI become central to industries, skilling must go beyond basics to building real-world capability. Programmes like Innovation Campus are designed to combine technical depth with employability and problem-solving skills.”

Launched in India in 2022, Samsung Innovation Campus focuses on expanding access to emerging technology education through a mix of classroom instruction, mentorship, and project-based learning. The programme has been scaling steadily, with Samsung reporting that it met its goal of training 20,000 youth in 2025. Notably, women account for 48% of participants nationwide, pointing to a growing emphasis on inclusivity.

The initiative is being implemented in partnership with the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI) and the Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC), as part of Samsung’s wider efforts to contribute to India’s skilling ecosystem.

Alongside other initiatives such as Samsung Solve for Tomorrow and Samsung DOST, the Innovation Campus continues to focus on nurturing young talent with both technical expertise and the ability to adapt, innovate, and lead in a technology-driven environment.
