Designed for Tough Terrains & Essential Sectors
Built specifically for industries that rely on consistent connectivity in rugged and isolated locations, IoT Nano promises seamless communication via Viasat’s ultra-reliable global L-band satellite network. Whether it’s agriculture, transport, mining, utilities, or environmental monitoring, businesses can now track and control both fixed and mobile assets with enhanced reliability and visibility. The new service is designed to be lightweight on power yet powerful in capability—enabling operations in places where terrestrial networks are unavailable or too costly to deploy. By optimising power efficiency and data use, IoT Nano delivers critical insights without draining system resources.
Powered by OGx: A Leap Beyond IDP
At the core of IoT Nano is ORBCOMM’s new-generation OGx satellite IoT technology—an upgrade to the earlier IDP (IsatData Pro) platform. OGx brings faster message delivery, support for larger message payloads, and introduces new hardware options, setting a new benchmark in satellite-based IoT. While still supporting legacy IDP services, OGx enhances existing capabilities by significantly reducing power consumption and increasing performance, thereby unlocking a range of high-value use cases.
