OpenAI is rolling out a game-changing feature called ‘Record Mode’ for its ChatGPT users on Pro, Enterprise, and Education plans. The feature, designed to enhance user productivity and personalise interactions, allows the AI to remember details across sessions, paving the way for smarter, more intuitive responses.

What Is 'Record Mode'?

Record Mode acts as a memory toggle within ChatGPT. Once turned on, it enables the chatbot to remember specific user-provided details—such as preferences, writing style, or frequently asked questions—and apply that memory in future conversations. The feature ensures more personalised interactions and saves time on repeated tasks.

Why It Matters

Until now, ChatGPT has been capable of maintaining context only within a single chat session. With Record Mode, the tool takes a leap toward becoming a virtual assistant that evolves with each interaction. For example, it can now remember that you prefer formal emails or that you're working on a startup, adapting responses accordingly.
