Nokia and Microsoft are expanding their long-standing partnership to help telecom operators with AI-driven network automation, with an agentic data foundation designed to make network data easier to use and act on.
The companies will combine Nokia Data Suite with Microsoft Fabric to create a unified data foundation for telecom operations.
The aim is to give operators faster access to reliable data, simplify complex data integration and reduce the time needed to turn network information into actionable insights.

Nokia & Microsoft Combine Telecom Data With AI Capabilities
The collaboration brings Nokia’s telco-focused data products together with Microsoft Fabric’s data management, analytics, governance & AI capabilities.
“Its Data Suite uses data quality controls and telecom-specific semantic modelling to improve transparency around AI-driven decisions. Microsoft Fabric adds OneLake storage, analytics tools, and AI applications, including Microsoft 365 Copilot, Foundry, and Power BI,” said Nokia.
The combined platform is designed to support intelligent, agent-based applications across the network. These include automated root-cause analysis & closed-loop operations, where systems can identify issues and take action to improve network performance and service quality.
Vivek Jaiswal, senior vice president, autonomous networks at Nokia, said the collaboration is intended to help operators move from fragmented data environments towards more programmable and autonomous networks.

AI-Driven Network Automation Targets Real Telecom Problems
The initial applications include autonomous VoNR assurance, geo-experience mapping and predictive maintenance.
VoNR assurance will help detect and address voice service problems. Geo-experience mapping will identify areas with degraded radio performance and coverage issues. Predictive maintenance will help operators identify potential network problems before they affect customers.
AI-driven operational assistants will also work as copilots for network engineers, providing contextual information and helping execute workflows.
The solution is designed for multi-vendor and cross-domain telecom networks. It can work across hybrid and cloud environments, including on-premises deployments, giving operators flexibility to meet regulatory requirements.

The companies said preparing and operationalising telecom data traditionally takes several weeks. Their combined approach aims to shorten that process and give operators a faster route to AI-driven network automation.
The partnership puts data readiness at the centre of telecom automation, with Nokia and Microsoft targeting practical network operations rather than AI experimentation alone.
