A fire at a third-party data centre in Delhi caused network issues for Google Cloud customers in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and nearby areas, the company stated. According to Google Cloud, the fire took place late on June 9 and led to an emergency power shutdown of networking equipment at the facility.
This affected a local Point of Presence (POP) in Delhi and reduced network capacity in the region. To reduce the impact, Google Cloud rerouted a large amount of traffic from the affected facility to other locations.
