The State Bank of India (SBI) has been allotted 10 acres in Meerkhanpet for a proposed data centre at Bharat Future City (BFC).
With Telangana attracting a growing pipeline of artificial intelligence and data centre investments, the land allocation follows the resolution of a dispute between SBI and the state government over nearly five acres in Raidurg.

SBI’s 10-Acre Data Centre Land Deal
SBI has been allotted seven acres of the new 10-acre parcel in lieu of the disputed Raidurg land, while the bank will pay for the remaining three acres. The proposed facility will be developed in Bharat Future City.
Officials in the chief minister’s office said several major investments have already been announced in the area, positioning BFC as an emerging centre for AI and data centre infrastructure.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has already started work on its flagship data centre project in BFC. On September 5, TCS subsidiary HyperVault signed an agreement with the Telangana government to establish a 1 GW AI data centre campus in BFC, involving an investment of Rs 70,000 crore.

AI Data Centre Investments Gather Pace in Telangana
Fortune Hospitality has announced plans for a hyperscale AI data centre park spread across 170 acres in Kandukur, Rangareddy, with an initial investment of Rs 60,000 crore.
CtrlS is already building a 2 GW AI data centre in BFC. Officials are also examining a proposal from UPC Volt for a 100 MW AI data centre.
Connectivity around the emerging data centre hub is also expected to improve. Work on the Ratan Tata greenfield road, including Greenfield Radial Road-1, a key access route to BFC, has gathered pace.
Senior officials said the project is expected to make progress by the time the Invest Telangana Global Summit is held in December.
For the data centre market, SBI’s land allotment adds another institutional project to a region already drawing large-scale AI infrastructure commitments. The next focus will be how these announced projects move from land and agreements to operational capacity.
