Paytm (One 97 Communications Ltd), India’s leading merchant payments platform, has unveiled a completely redesigned version of its flagship app, built to deliver a smarter, faster, and more personalised payment experience. The refreshed app introduces a host of artificial intelligence-driven features and an enhanced interface designed to simplify transactions for millions of users, including Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) across 12 countries.
A Smarter, Simpler Experience
The new Paytm app features a streamlined design and over 15 upgrades that make everyday payments more intuitive. At its core is a set of AI tools that help users track spending, manage accounts, and gain insights into their financial habits.
One of the most notable additions is “Gold Coins”, an innovative rewards program that offers users digital gold on every transaction. This feature turns routine payments into opportunities for savings, adding tangible value to daily financial activity.

AI-Driven Insights and Organised Finances
The app’s built-in intelligence automatically categorises monthly expenses under shopping, bills, travel, and utilities, offering a clear snapshot of spending patterns. A revamped balance history section now includes AI-generated tags that show total funds across UPI-linked accounts, removing the need to manually calculate balances from multiple banks.
To support greater control and transparency, Paytm has added options to download detailed UPI statements in Excel or PDF format. Users can also perform advanced searches across transaction history and even hide specific payments for added privacy.
Everyday Features Designed for Convenience
In addition to analytical tools, the app introduces several practical improvements aimed at everyday use. Magic Paste automatically detects and fills in copied bank or IFSC details from WhatsApp or messages, while Favourite Contacts lets users make payments to regular recipients with one tap.
A Built-in Calculator allows users to total up payments—ideal for quick calculations at grocery stores or pharmacies. For professionals such as doctors, fitness trainers, and cab drivers, a new Receive Money widget enables instant payments directly from the home screen, without needing to open the app.
Enhanced Scanning and Interactive Payments
Paytm has also redesigned its QR scanner for a more seamless experience. The upgraded scanner supports recognition from any angle, activates a flashlight in low-light conditions, and includes a zoom function for scanning codes from a distance.
In a creative twist, the app now includes Paytm Playback, a feature that transforms recent spending data into personalised rap songs—making money management unexpectedly engaging.

Expanding Access for NRIs
Paytm’s new update also extends UPI accessibility to NRIs in 12 countries. They can now link their international mobile numbers to NRE or NRO bank accounts, enabling direct UPI transactions in Indian rupees.
“Built in India, for Every Indian”
Announcing the launch, Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Founder and CEO of Paytm, said, “We’ve introduced the all-new Paytm app with a cleaner design and AI-led experience to make it the best payments app in the country. The app now understands your spending habits, organises transactions automatically, and helps you manage money more intelligently. With Gold Coins on every payment—redeemable as real digital gold—every Paytm payment truly becomes a golden one.”
With this relaunch, Paytm reinforces its position as India’s most comprehensive payments platform—combining intelligence, convenience, and innovation in one unified experience.
