“We have a huge launch next week that’s going to be phenomenal,” Ternus wrote in the memo. He also pointed to products already in development, as well as ideas that Apple has yet to imagine.
John Ternus begins Apple CEO role
Ternus officially became Apple’s CEO on 1 September, replacing Cook after his 15 years at the helm. Cook has moved into the role of executive chairman, allowing the company to maintain some continuity during the leadership transition. The timing of Ternus’ arrival is significant. His first major event as CEO will take place just days after he assumed the position, giving him an immediate opportunity to introduce Apple’s latest products to the world.
