Oakley and Meta have launched the Oakley Meta Vanguard in India, marking the debut of a new category of performance-focused AI glasses designed for high-intensity sports and training. Built for athletes and fitness enthusiasts, the glasses combine hands-free capture, immersive audio, and AI-driven assistance in a form factor engineered for active use.
Caio Amato, Global President at Oakley, said the collaboration reflects the brand’s long-standing focus on innovation in sports eyewear. He noted that Oakley Meta Vanguard is intended to push the boundaries of what eyewear can do, blending performance design with advanced technology to support athletes in real-world conditions.

From a design standpoint, the glasses feature Oakley’s Three-Point Fit system and come with three interchangeable nose pads to ensure stability and comfort during movement. They are optimised for use with cycling helmets and caps, and carry an IP67 rating, offering protection against dust and water during outdoor training sessions.
At the core of the device is a 12-megapixel, hands-free camera with a 122-degree wide-angle lens. It supports video recording up to 3K resolution and includes features such as slow motion, hyperlapse, and adjustable stabilisation, allowing users to capture training moments and action footage without breaking stride.
Audio has also been upgraded, with open-ear speakers that deliver sound up to six decibels louder than earlier Oakley Meta models. A five-microphone array supports clearer calls and voice interactions, even in noisy environments. Battery life extends up to nine hours, with around six hours of continuous audio playback. The charging case adds up to 36 hours of additional power and supports fast charging.
The Oakley Meta Vanguard integrates Meta AI with Garmin and other fitness apps, enabling users to track performance data and receive real-time updates through voice commands. Meta AI also supports Hindi, allowing users to ask questions, capture photos and videos, manage calls and messages, and control media using voice prompts. Additional features include hands-free interactions and support for UPI Lite payments. Users can also opt for a celebrity voice, with actor Deepika Padukone joining Meta AI’s global voice lineup.
