The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India TRAI conducts Independent Drive Tests IDT in five cities: Chandigarh, Mysore, Dharamshala, Chennai, and Kolkata. The tests assess the quality of the service provided by the Telecom Service Providers TSPs in these cities. They indicate which Network provider you must choose if you live in these cities. 

The test revealed the best network provider for both calls and data in Chandigarh. For calls, Vodafone-Idea VIL topped the charts with a Mean Opinion Score MOS of 3.99 out of 4. The other network providers ranked as Airtel 3.93, RJIL 3.90, and BSNL 2.61. Further, in data speed, Reliance-Jio RJIL topped the charts in downloading with 218.04 Mbps speed while Airtel topped the charts in uploading speed with  27.38 Mbps.

Network in Chandigarh: Call Records 

For calls, the Call Setup success rate is optimum for all the network providers while Call Setup TimeCST and Call Drop Rate CDR are highest for BSNL which is 6.69 seconds and  2.85 percent, as against the standard of less than 2. It raises serious questions regarding BSNL’s aspirations of becoming the organic choice for the residents of Chandigarh while also an opportunity for the authorities to improve the state-run BSNL’s performance.

Network in Chandigarh: Data Speed 

In Chandigarh download performance, and upload performance, both remain optimum depending upon the network infrastructure the TSPs have currently deployed. BSNL and VIL can get you a data speed of 5.84 Mbps and 29.68 Mbps, respectively, being on 3G & 4G as the second top technology while Airtel’s and Jio’s speeds have been mentioned above.
