American Airlines to Bring Starlink Wi-Fi on 500+ Aircraft by 2027
American Airlines will add SpaceX Starlink Wi-Fi to 500+ aircraft by 2027, offering faster in-flight internet and free access for AAdvantage members.

Major American Airlines are set to partner with SpaceX to introduce high-speed Starlink internet on more than 500 narrowbody aircraft. The installation work will begin in early 2027. The move is part of the growing competition among airlines to offer faster and better in-flight Wi-Fi for passengers.

Starlink Wi-Fi for Airbus Fleet

The new internet service will be added mainly to Airbus narrowbody aircraft used for domestic and short international flights. This includes existing planes and new deliveries of the Airbus A321neo and Airbus A321XLR. American Airlines aims to improve the onboard internet experience for travellers who want to stay connected during flights.

Faster Internet at 30,000 Feet

Starlink uses Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites to deliver high-speed, low-latency internet. The system can provide speeds of up to 1 Gbps per antenna. Passengers will be able to stream videos, play online games, attend work meetings, and browse the internet more smoothly while flying.

Free Wi-Fi for Loyalty Members
