Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said India is expected to achieve a significant milestone in its semiconductor ambitions, with four semiconductor manufacturing facilities set to become operational by December 2026.
Speaking about the country’s progress in chip manufacturing, Vaishnaw said the projects are progressing as planned and will play an important role in strengthening India’s electronics manufacturing ecosystem.
The development comes as the centre continues to push for greater self-reliance in critical technology supply chains and to reduce dependence on imports.

Semiconductor Projects: Nearing Operations
