Spanish Investment Strengthens Madhya Pradesh’s Semiconductor Plans

The proposed investment by Semidynamics is expected to support the development of semiconductor design and manufacturing capabilities in Madhya Pradesh.

State officials said the project aligns with India’s broader strategy to reduce dependence on imported chips while building a stronger domestic semiconductor ecosystem.

The announcement came during Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s visit to Spain, where the state government held discussions with industry leaders and investors across technology and manufacturing sectors.

The investment proposal is among the largest outcomes of the overseas roadshow organised to attract global businesses to Madhya Pradesh.

The state government believes the project could generate skilled employment, encourage technology transfer and attract ancillary industries that support semiconductor manufacturing.

Investment Adds Momentum to India’s Semiconductor Mission

India has stepped up efforts to attract global semiconductor companies through financial incentives and policy support under the India Semiconductor Mission. As countries work to diversify chip supply chains, several states have been competing to attract investment in chip fabrication, chip design and electronics manufacturing.

The proposed Semidynamics investment adds to this momentum and reinforces Madhya Pradesh’s ambition to become an emerging semiconductor hub alongside other manufacturing destinations in India.

Industry experts say such investments can help strengthen local supply chains, improve access to advanced technologies and create opportunities for component manufacturers, research institutions and skilled professionals.
