Fujitsu has announced plans to build a dedicated AI platform for financial institutions, bringing together financial tech and AI.
The aim is to help banks use generative AI securely while handling sensitive customer and business data.
The Japanese technology company said development of its Uvance for Finance AI Transformation Platform will begin on 1 August 2026, with commercial availability planned for March 2027. The platform is designed primarily for Japanese financial institutions, including regional banks and will support AI-driven business processes beyond pilot projects.

Purpose-Built AI For the Banking Sector
The new platform will run on Fujitsu Kozuchi Enterprise AI Factory, the company’s proprietary enterprise AI environment that gives organisations greater control over their data and AI operations.
It combines Fujitsu’s Takane large language model (LLM), built specifically to understand the legal frameworks, business practices and financial terminology used by banks, with AI trust technologies and multi-agent AI capabilities.
“Financial institutions have been cautious about adopting AI at scale because of strict security requirements, cyber risks, limited AI expertise and the rising cost of deploying enterprise AI. As a result, many projects have remained confined to trials rather than organisation-wide deployment.”
said company officials.
The company further added that its platform aims to overcome these barriers by offering a secure and continuously managed AI environment.

AI Agents to Support Lending, Compliance and Customer Service
The platform will introduce multiple AI agents designed for financial operations. These include agents that analyse customer needs, recommend sales strategies and assist with loan screening, document preparation, application verification and customer enquiries.
Fujitsu said the AI system will also include proprietary guardrail technology that helps monitor AI behaviour, explain decision-making and identify potential risks, improving transparency and governance.
Another feature is a flexible pricing model for the Takane LLM that combines subscription-based and usage-based billing to help banks optimise AI operating costs. Fujitsu will also provide implementation and operational support, covering planning, deployment and long-term AI adoption.

Roadmap Focuses on Long-Term AI Transformation
By March 2027, Fujitsu plans to extend the platform beyond lending into branch operations, compliance, reporting and customer service.
The company also intends to create a collaborative ecosystem where financial institutions can share AI agents and operational know-how to accelerate innovation across the sector.
Fujitsu said the platform will become a core component of its broader Uvance for Finance strategy, supporting productivity, customer engagement and long-term competitiveness.
As banks move from testing generative AI to deploying it across core operations, platforms that combine data sovereignty, regulatory compliance and specialised financial AI models are likely to shape the next phase of enterprise AI adoption in the global fintech industry.
