Samsung Electronics has strengthened its top leadership with the appointment of TM Roh as Head of the Device eXperience (DX) Division. Roh, who has also been named CEO, will serve alongside Vice Chairman Young Hyun Jun, the current Head of the Device Solutions (DS) Division and co-CEO of the company.
Roh will continue to lead Samsung’s mobile operations in his ongoing role as Head of the Mobile eXperience (MX) Business. Vice Chairman Jun, meanwhile, will remain at the helm of the company’s Memory Business, one of Samsung’s core growth engines.

As part of its broader push to reinforce technology leadership, Samsung has also announced key appointments in its research organisation. Janghyun Yoon has been named President, Chief Technology Officer of the DX Division, and Head of Samsung Research. Hongkun Park will take charge of the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT).
Yoon previously served as CEO of Samsung Venture Investment, where he oversaw strategic investments in cutting-edge technologies. Before that, he led software platform development as well as IoT and Tizen initiatives within the MX Business, giving him deep insight into Samsung’s device and software ecosystem.

Park joins Samsung from Harvard University, where he serves as the Mark Hyman Jr. Professor of Chemistry and Professor of Physics. A distinguished figure in nanoscience, quantum science and engineering, Park’s appointment underscores Samsung’s intent to advance next-generation technologies through fundamental research.
