A new online marketplace is enabling artificial intelligence (AI) systems to hire humans for tasks that require physical presence or real-world action.
The platform, called RentAHuman.ai, has drawn significant attention since its launch in early February as a novel model for human-AI collaboration in work and services.

AI Hires Humans for Tasks Machines Aren’t Able to Do
RentAHuman.ai positions itself as a digital space where autonomous AI agents can search, select, and engage human workers to complete tasks beyond the capabilities of software alone.
Unlike traditional gig-work sites where humans apply for jobs, here AI agents review human profiles based on location, skills and rates, then assign tasks. Payments are processed via cryptocurrency wallets once tasks are completed.
Profiles on the site can include a range of skills and services, from errands such as package pickups and deliveries to photographic assignments and in-person appearances. Users set their own hourly rates and list their availability. Work with autonomous AI tools is managed through established technical protocols that enable agents to interact with the marketplace without any negotiations.

Rapid Uptake and Emerging Questions for Work Models
Since its debut, the platform attracted tens of thousands of human sign-ups within days, signalling strong early interest. Some users were quick to register and create listings, while AI developers have experimented with agent-to-human task flows.
The concept has sparked discussion among tech observers about the implications for labour markets and the future of human-AI interaction.
The legitimacy of payments, job safety, ethical oversight, and legal responsibility remain in question, especially when autonomous software replaces human effort.
Currently, the platform’s operational scale and long-term viability remain under scrutiny.
