AI Integration to Streamline Smoother Services
The CM attended the meeting at the Society for Promotion of IT and e-Governance in Himachal Pradesh (SITEG) in Shimla. He highlighted that the new system will scan uploaded documents for clarity, correct formatting and completeness. This will reduce the repetitive manual checks currently being run.
On-ground officials process manual verification for a large number of applications. Even the minutest error (unclear photos/incorrect formats) is liable to lead to rejection or return of files. It not only increases re-application cases but also adds to the hassle for applicants.
An automated system can easily identify these issues during upload and provide instant feedback, allowing citizens to rectify errors before submission.
The integration would reduce backlogs, ease workloads for revenue officers and also speed up case disposals once applications reach officials for final review.

Tech Push Part of Broader Digital Agenda
The announcement comes as part of a broader push towards digitising public services in Himachal Pradesh. Officials highlighted the state’s progress in using information technology to make government services accessible, transparent and time-bound, including in remote and tribal areas.
Officials also reviewed other digital tools such as the Him Upasthiti attendance app and the Him Access Portal, aimed at consolidating services and data for government staff.
The government is planning to map citizen and land data under the Him Parivar Portal to integrate welfare schemes. The plan is to utilise artificial intelligence and blockchain technologies to enhance service quality and data security.
