In a landmark move for Karnataka’s semiconductor industry, Silectric Semiconductor Manufacturing Pvt Ltd., a venture by Zoho Corporation, has committed to a significant investment in Mysuru’s Kochanahalli electronics manufacturing cluster. The new semiconductor facility will span 40 acres within the electronics cluster. This cutting-edge unit will specialise in silicon carbide production, encompassing ingot manufacturing, MOSFET production, and advanced module packaging processes, including Assembly, Testing, Marking, and Packaging ATMP.

Government support for advanced manufacturing

The project received approval during the 64th State High-Level Clearance Committee meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. This milestone highlights Karnataka’s commitment to fostering high-tech manufacturing capabilities, especially in the semiconductor domain. “The establishment of Karnataka’s first semiconductor project in Mysuru’s electronics cluster marks a significant achievement for the state,” said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The project underscores Karnataka’s growing reputation as a hub for electronics and semiconductor manufacturing.
