Infopark Kochi has announced the launch of its much-anticipated third phase of development, aiming to establish a world-class integrated AI township. The project, being jointly implemented with the Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA), is expected to reshape Kerala’s technology landscape and strengthen its position as a global knowledge economy.

MoU Signed for Landmark Project

An official memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Infopark and GCDA to initiate the ambitious venture. Susanth Kurunthil, CEO of Infopark, and GCDA Chairman K. Chandran Pillai stated at a joint press conference that the development would provide fresh momentum to Kerala’s growth journey and attract international investments.

₹25,000 Crore Investment, Massive Job Creation

The integrated township is projected to draw investments worth around ₹25,000 crore while creating two lakh direct jobs and nearly four lakh indirect jobs. The project is also designed to attract global technology leaders and the Global Capability Centres (GCCs) of major multinational companies.

Land-Pooling Model to Drive Development

To overcome land acquisition hurdles, the project will adopt the land-pooling model, an innovative approach that consolidates smaller land parcels with landowners’ consent. These pooled lands will then be developed with modern infrastructure such as IT parks, roadways, and public amenities. After development, landowners will receive a portion of developed plots with significantly enhanced value, ensuring continued ownership and long-term benefits.

Roles of Infopark and GCDA

According to the MoU, GCDA will take charge of identifying suitable land parcels, holding discussions with landowners, conducting surveys, and redistributing developed plots. Infopark will lead the infrastructure development, master planning, investment mobilization, and marketing. The ownership of the township project will remain with Infopark, while a detailed project report will be submitted to the Kerala government within a year.

Transforming Kerala into a Knowledge Hub

The AI township is envisioned not just as a technology hub but also as a sustainable residential community, blending innovation with livability. With state-of-the-art facilities, the project is expected to transform Kochi into a global destination for IT, AI, and high-tech industries, reinforcing Kerala’s identity as an emerging knowledge hub.
