Rajasthan is set to become part of India’s expanding Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) network, planned to connect Rajasthan’s Alwar district with New Delhi through the Namo Bharat rapid rail network, centred at Sarai Kale Khan.

The aim is to improve regional mobility, reduce travel time and strengthen economic connectivity across the National Capital Region (NCR).

The development marks a major expansion of the semi-high-speed rail corridor beyond Haryana, into Rajasthan. Once completed, the corridor will support daily commuters, business travel, tourism and industrial activity along the route and other nearby manufacturing hubs.

Alwar to Get Direct Access to Delhi Through Namo Bharat Corridor

Starting from Sarai Kale Khan in New Delhi, the blueprint for the Gurugram-SNB-Alwar corridor is planned to pass through Munirka, Aerocity, Gurugram and Bawal. It further connects Khairthal and Alwar via SNB.

Simultaneously, another section extending from SNB has been proposed for development up to Sotanala via Neemrana and Behror.

The corridor is part of the National Capital Region Transport Corporation’s (NCRTC) broader rapid transit expansion plan. The Delhi-Gurugram-SNB corridor is already being positioned as a key urban transport project under the Namo Bharat network.

The addition of Alwar will further boost passenger movement and strengthen regional economic integration.

Faster Regional Mobility and Infrastructure Across NCR

The Namo Bharat system has been designed to offer faster transit between cities surrounding Delhi through dedicated rapid rail corridors. The project is a part of the government’s wider infrastructure and urban mobility push. The end goal is to ease road congestion and improve public transport access.

Earlier, another proposed extension of Namo Bharat RRTS is under review to extend the existing network from Meerut to Haridwar, up to Rishikesh.

The RRTS network is being developed with semi-high-speed trains designed for regional commuting. Several sections of the Delhi-Meerut RRTS corridor are already operational, while work on other planned corridors continues.
