Switch Mobility, a global leader in electric buses and light commercial vehicles eLCVs, and Vertelo, a fleet electrification platform, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding MoU to deploy 1,000 electric vehicles EVs across India within the next 3 to 5 years. The partnership aims to tackle urban congestion, air pollution, and climate change by integrating EVs into commercial fleets.
As part of the collaboration, Switch Mobility will provide the EVs for leasing, while Vertelo will manage the vehicle leasing and funding. This model enables operators to transition to electric vehicles without bearing the high upfront costs typically associated with EV adoption. The move highlights the growing emphasis on sustainable transportation in India, where electrifying commercial fleets is seen as crucial for reducing carbon emissions. Through Vertelo’s leasing platform, Switch Mobility plans to broaden its reach to businesses eager to adopt EVs while overcoming financial and operational barriers.
