TVS, in partnership with Swiss start-up Aegis Rider, lifted the curtain on a radical piece of rider gear: an AR helmet with a heads-up display (HUD) at EICMA 2025, Milan. The smart helmet technology projects real-time navigation, hazard alerts, incoming calls, and message notifications into the rider’s line of sight, enhancing both awareness and control on the road.

What and How: Features of Smart Riding Ecosystem
Built around a carbon-fibre shell, this helmet features magnetic binocular AR glasses along with a µOLED projector. This delivers a clear, spatially anchored display. It auto-adjusts brightness and glare, ensuring visibility across varying lighting conditions. Backed by a Qualcomm processor and powered by a 7,000 mAh battery, this AR gadget offers upto four hours of runtime.

No matter how much the rider’s head moves or the bike shakes, the virtual display stays fixed in the rider’s view. In more fully integrated versions (expected later), data from the bike, such as RPM, fuel level, turn indicators, and gear position, could also be shown. Connectivity is woven deep into the design: the helmet links wirelessly with either a motorcycle’s infotainment system or a smartphone. There is also a native 5-megapixel action camera to log rides, teeing up safety, documentation, or memory-making.

In TVS’s own words, this is not just a helmet, it is a building block in a “connected mobility” ecosystem. The launch signals to be more than being just a flashy smart gadget. It reflects a shift in how bike riding is set to evolve. It is a shift towards safety, connectivity, and the seamless integration of digital information with the real-world ride.
