Tata Motors has introduced an on-demand doorstep electric vehicle (EV) charging service in the Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR). The company has partnered with Hopcharge to deploy mobile fast-charging vans across the region. The service is now live in Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, and Faridabad.

How the Service Works

EV owners can book a charging session at their home or workplace. A mobile charging van is dispatched to the customer’s location to recharge the vehicle on-site. The vans are equipped with fast-charging systems and do not require a fixed grid connection at the customer’s premises.

The offering is structured under subscription-based plans. Eligible Tata EV buyers in NCR can opt for doorstep charging packages with defined session limits and validity periods.

Who Is Eligible

The service is currently available to customers purchasing Tata electric vehicles through authorised dealerships in the NCR region.

Certain new buyers will receive complimentary charging sessions for a limited period as part of an introductory rollout offer. The company has not disclosed full pricing details beyond the promotional structure.

Why It Matters

Access to charging remains a constraint in high-density residential areas, where installing private chargers is restricted or impractical. The mobile charging model aims to address infrastructure gaps for apartment residents and urban EV users without dedicated parking or power connections.

Delhi-NCR is one of India’s largest EV markets, but public charging availability remains uneven across locations. Tata is among the largest manufacturers of electric passenger vehicles in India. Its current EV portfolio includes the Nexon EV, Tiago EV, and Punch EV.

The doorstep charging rollout adds to the company’s broader EV ecosystem strategy, which includes partnerships to expand public and semi-public charging infrastructure. No timeline has been announced for expansion beyond the NCR market.
