Paras Defence has secured exclusive Indian manufacturing rights for Guardian-1 counter-drone interceptor technology. The deal boosts India’s drone defence & manufacturing ambitions.

The company announced that it has signed an agreement to bring the Guardian-1 technology to India under an exclusive manufacturing arrangement.

The interceptor is designed to detect, track and neutralise hostile drones, including fast-moving unmanned aerial vehicles.

The development comes at a time when governments and security agencies are increasing investments in anti-drone systems amid rising concerns over drone-related security threats.

What can the Guardian-1 do?

The Guardian-1 is positioned as a high-speed counter-drone interceptor capable of rapidly engaging aerial targets. According to the company, the system is designed for use in defence and security operations where quick response times are important.

Paras Defence said the agreement grants it exclusive manufacturing rights in the Indian market, allowing the company to produce the technology domestically rather than rely on imports.

Boost for India’s Defence Manufacturing Push

The deal aligns with the government’s broader Make in India and defence indigenisation programmes, which aim to reduce dependence on imported military equipment and encourage local production.

Industry observers say the agreement could help create opportunities for domestic suppliers and strengthen India’s growing drone defence ecosystem.

India has seen a sharp increase in demand for surveillance drones, counter-drone systems and related technologies from defence, border security and critical infrastructure operators.

For Paras Defence, the Guardian-1 agreement is more than a technology tie-up. It positions the company in one of the fastest-growing segments of the defence industry, where demand for drone interception and airspace security solutions is expected to remain strong in the coming years.
