The Andhra Pradesh government has completed arrangements for the state’s first semiconductor project under the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM). The foundation ceremony for the Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facility of Advanced System in Packaged Technologies Pvt. Ltd. is scheduled for June 8.

Vizag to Host Semiconductor Facility
The project will be set up at Tarluvada village in Anandapuram mandal of Visakhapatnam. It will be developed with a total investment of ₹2,387.81 crore. The investment will be made in two phases. The first phase will see an investment of ₹542.19 crore, while the second phase will involve ₹1,845.61 crore.
Government Allots Land for Semiconductor Project
To support the project, the state government has allotted 30 acres of land to the company at a nominal rate of ₹1 per acre. Officials said the project is the first semiconductor unit approved for Andhra Pradesh under the Union government’s India Semiconductor Mission.

1,000 Jobs Expected in Andhra Pradesh
The semiconductor facility is expected to create around 1,000 jobs in the region. Around 200 jobs will be generated in the first phase, while the remaining 800 jobs will come in the second phase.
Special Incentives Under Semiconductor Policy
The Andhra Pradesh government has also offered incentives under the Andhra Pradesh Semiconductor and Display Fab Policy 2024-29. The incentives are capped at 40% of the project cost and will be released alongside the 50% grant provided by the Central government, officials said.
