Bolt’s Rapid Expansion Across India
Coinciding with Genie’s suspension, Swiggy is aggressively expanding its 10-minute food delivery service, Bolt. Initially launched in major metros, Bolt now operates in over 500 cities, including Tier-II and Tier-III towns. The service promises delivery of ready-to-eat meals from partner restaurants within a 2 km radius, boasting partnerships with over 45,000 eateries, including McDonald’s, KFC, Subway, and Burger King.
Swiggy’s Strategic Shift Towards Quick Commerce
Swiggy’s pivot towards Bolt reflects a broader strategy to dominate the quick commerce sector. Currently, one in every ten orders on the platform is fulfilled through Bolt, underscoring its growing popularity. This move aligns with the company’s focus on services that promise rapid delivery, catering to the evolving demands of urban consumers.
