The Assam Budget 2026-2027 has proposed the development of the Guwahati Aerotropolis Project, a major urban and economic hub around the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati.
As part of the Assam Budget 2026-2027, the state government plans to set up a special authority to oversee the project and guide its development. The aerotropolis will focus on attracting businesses, logistics companies and commercial establishments around the airport region, creating a modern business ecosystem.
To support the project, the Assam Budget 2026-2027 has proposed an initial allocation of Rs 2,500 crore for land acquisition. The investment is expected to lay the foundation for future commercial growth and improve infrastructure around the airport.
