Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Roads, Transport, and Highways, GOI, has proposed the introduction of QR code scanners on all major roads across the country, in a move to enhance transparency and public accountability in infrastructure development.

Each project will include a QR code for the citizens to scan using their smartphones under the proposed system.

Progress & Maintenance History

Gadkari further mentioned that with the key details, the photo of the Contractor, Consultant’s and everybody else involved in the making of the road will be visible.
He jokingly said, “Why should i solely take the blame for all the roads? From now on, every bad road will reveal the precise officials, contractors, and consultants involved.”
