Karnataka is widening its international startup outreach ahead of the Bengaluru Tech Summit (BTS) 2026.
The state has signed fresh partnerships with leading European innovation platforms to help Indian startups reach new markets, investors & technology networks.
The latest collaboration brings together Bengaluru Tech Summit, We Make Future (WMF) in Italy and Viva Technology (VivaTech) in France as part of a broader effort to position Karnataka’s startup ecosystem on a stronger global footing. The initiative is expected to create more opportunities for cross-border business, innovation and investment, state officials said.

Startup exchange programme to connect India with Europe
One of the major outcomes of the partnership is the launch of the WMF-BTS Startup Exchange Programme, which will allow startups from India and Europe to participate in each other’s flagship technology events.
Under the programme, selected European startups will attend Bengaluru Tech Summit 2026, while an Indian startup delegation will travel to Italy for WMF 2027.
The exchange is meant to help founders connect with venture capital firms, industry leaders and potential business partners while exploring overseas markets.
Officials said the programme goes beyond event participation. It aims to create lasting business relationships, encourage technology partnerships and improve access to international innovation ecosystems.

Karnataka strengthens its global startup strategy
The European partnerships form part of Karnataka’s wider strategy to transform the Bengaluru Tech Summit from a three-day annual event into a year-round international platform for startups, investors and technology companies.
The initiative also builds on the state’s earlier collaborations with innovation partners in France and Poland, reinforcing Karnataka’s ambition to deepen links with global technology hubs.
Scheduled for 17-19 November 2026, Bengaluru Tech Summit will bring together startups, policymakers, investors, researchers and technology companies from across the world. Organisers are positioning this year’s edition as a platform focused on artificial intelligence, deep technology and global innovation partnerships.
As competition for global capital intensifies, international partnerships are becoming increasingly important for startups looking to scale beyond domestic markets. By creating direct links with European innovation ecosystems, Karnataka hopes to give emerging companies easier access to customers, funding opportunities and international collaborations.
If these exchange programmes translate into sustained investment and commercial partnerships, Bengaluru Tech Summit could further strengthen its role as India’s gateway to international innovation.
