Lauren Dreyer, Vice President of Starlink Business Operations, has clarified that Starlink’s satellite internet service has not launched in India, despite a brief online stir earlier this week.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Dreyer explained that the Starlink India website is not yet live, that no official pricing has been announced, and that the company is not accepting customer orders in the country. She attributed the sudden appearance of pricing information to a configuration glitch, which temporarily exposed placeholder data, figures that, she stressed, “do not reflect what the cost of Starlink services will be in India.” The issue was quickly resolved.

The clarification came when Starlink’s India page unexpectedly displayed what appeared to be the official pricing. The site showed a monthly residential plan priced at around ₹8,600, along with a hardware kit costing about ₹34,000.
A closer review also hinted at potential city-specific pricing, with different plans appearing for select locations, and even a business-tier option. However, Dreyer’s statement makes it clear that Starlink has yet to launch in India, and any detailed pricing or service structure remains unannounced.
