A Hyderabad-based defence technology company has introduced the Indrajaal Ranger, India’s first Anti-drone Patrol Vehicle (ADPV), designed to strengthen the country’s border security at a time when cross-border drone threats are becoming increasingly sophisticated.
The fully mobile, AI-enabled system can detect, track and neutralise hostile drones even while the vehicle is in motion. This marks a sharp departure from conventional mounted anti-drone solutions, which typically function only when stationary. By operating in real time on the move, the Ranger supports autonomous threat assessment, rapid interception and continuous patrolling—capabilities that have become critical in light of rising drone-led intrusions.

The company developed the ADPV in response to a series of recent incidents where drones were used as a channel for smuggling weapons and other illegal activities across the border. Several ISI-linked attempts to push arms into Indian territory, along with multiple drone interceptions by security forces, underscored the need for a more resilient and mobile counter-drone strategy.

Indrajaal’s CEO and Founder, Kiran Raju, said the objective behind the innovation is to strengthen India’s internal security architecture. “Every drone neutralised translates to lives protected and greater national security,” he said. “Defending freedom is at the core of our mission, and the Ranger brings a transformative new layer to that effort.”
