Focus on Land Use, Infrastructure and Sustainable Growth

Authorities reviewed key aspects of the draft GIS-based plan, including zoning patterns, civic infrastructure requirements and roadmap to balance development with environmental protection.

Conversations also included road connectivity, public facilities, waste management and future population needs.

The officials have stressed the importance of using Geographic Information System (GIS)-based mapping and digital planning tools for accurate land assessment and long-term urban management.

The administration said coordinated inputs from departments would be critical to preparing a comprehensive, implementable roadmap for Bandipora’s future expansion.

The Deputy Commissioner has directed departments to share updated records, planning data and other relevant inputs to support preparation of the final document.

Officials said the Bandipora Master Plan 2026-2046 would incorporate stakeholder feedback before finalisation. The administration maintained that the exercise is aimed at ensuring planned urbanisation, improved public infrastructure and balanced regional growth in the district over the coming years.
